Access to archived SAP Document Info Records

The SAP Document Management System (SAP DMS) can be used for diverse data such as product and logistics information, manuals, work instructions, catalogs, and images. It is also an important Quality Assurance tool with regard to product liability.

However, document info records are no longer available after SAP archiving. This is not the case if you use the PBS archive add on CDVS. SAP users can now also access archived SAP document info records and their linked original documents using this new PBS product. To enable this, the PBS archive add on CDVS interrupts the SAP archiving process and saves all the data required to allow a complete display in addition to the document info records. A prerequisite for this is that the linked original documents must be stored in an external compliant content repository on an HTTP content server. Archived object links for resident document info records are then displayed along with the documents.
