Archivability Analysis

Result of the Document Distribution Analysis

An important component of an active Information Lifecycle Management strategy is the analysis of the productive SAP database with regard to the storage footpring, the growth rate of individual tables, and whether or not data can be archived. The PBS Database Analyzer PLUS offers three functions to perform these analyses:

  • The capacity analysis to evaluate the size of database tables and list the results grouped by SAP archiving objects.
  • The document distribution to assign the data chronologically to fiscal periods.
  • The archivability check to verify whether respective data qualify for archiving .

A new feature now simplifies the analysis of archiving-relevant data records for the FI module: Results of the archivability check for the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT can be copied directly into the document distribution analysis. Combining both steps makes  the analysis  even easier. Users can see at a glance which documents of a dedicated period are archivable. Additionally, the reasons for non-archivability can be determined and subsequently eliminated, so that successful data archiving is enabled.

The new function is available for SAP ERP from release ECC 6.0 and for SAP IS from release 6.06. It can be provided for other releases on request.
