PBS ContentLink now also certified by Hitachi Data Systems

PBS ContentLink, the lean interface between SAP applications and modern storage systems such as NetApp FAS, IBM DR550, or EMC Centera, can now also be used with the storage system "Hitachi Content Archive Platform", in short HCAP. This was tested extensively by Hitachi Data Systems and can now be approved by a respective certification.

The combined usage of PBS ContentLink and Hitachi HCAP enables SAP customers to store their data in a compliant manner via the SAP ArchiveLink protocol. Furthermore, SAP archive data with a legal retention period can be stored directly in the storage system Hitachi HCAP. The storage system itself ensures that the data cannot be changed or deleted within the legal retention period. This is realized without the need for a cost-intensive document management system.

The setting of retention periods was one of the components tested by Hitachi. The "Failure Test" was also part of this test. This ensures that PBS ContentLink issues a corresponding message in the case of a malfunction. Read, write, and deletion procedures were also tested.

PBS ContentLink passed all tests very successfully. This is no wonder because it has already proved itself with great success in practice for a long time now, even though among other storage system manufacturers. Its multi-threading architecture guarantees excellent system performance, even for very large data volumes as well as high scalability. PBS customers also appreciate the considerable time and cost savings that result from the fact that only minimal maintenance is needed to use PBS ContentLink.

Hitachi Data Systems and PBS Software are glad about their partnership and are looking forward to a successful cooperation.
