Dolphin and PBS Customer Data Archiving Day

Dolphin and PBS Software hosted their annual customer event as a kind of jumpstart prior to SAP TechED in the Venetian and Palazzo Resort, Las Vegas.

Dr. Werner Hopf, president and CEO of Dolphin, opened the event with an overview on the latest development news and welcomed more than 50 customers to his keynote. In his presentation, he emphasized the importance and benefits of add-on solutions such as the ones provided by Dolphin and PBS for a sound data lifecycle management strategy for SAP environments.

He was joined by Walter Steffen and Klaus Zimmer who reported on latest PBS Software news, for example the new PBS CPOS for retailer’s cash receipt data in SAP.

Highlight of the event were customer presentations: Mary Anderson of Kraft Foods reported on Kraft’s evolution of the archiving solution, Bradley Wittekind of Honeywell presented how his company ensured compliance by decommissioning SAP systems with Dolphin. Ajay Pathak of South California Edison gave an overview how SCE migrated SAP BW to HANA adding nearline storage and archiving and Darrell Kennedy of Coca Cola shared his experience on Coke’s One Archiving Solution: Multiple distributors across multiple continents – how Coca Cola manages Big Data. Additionally, Rob Jackson and Jim Paschke introduced a new Dolphin utility development.

The event ended with a lively round table discussion on various topics. Attendees had the occasion to clarify all kind of details with specialists from Dolphin and PBS Software. The next Dolphin-PBS Customer Data Archiving Day (2014) is already in preparation …
