Easier evaluations of purchasing documents using NAI

Users of the Nearline Analytic Infrastructure (NAI) can now evaluate purchasing documents very fast and easily by writing the selected data extracts to the NAI database and performing the evaluation with the NAI. This function is called via the path Data export -> /PBS/CMME_EXPORT Variable document extract purchasing documents or directly via the transaction /PBS/CMME_EXPORT.

In the extraction tool, in addition to the output options Display/Print, Export to file and Create BW extract, NAI users now also find the output option Create NAI extract. This option can be used both for the “Item list” (only EKPO fields), whose layout variant /PBS/EKPO is included as standard within the delivery scope of CMM, as well as for extract structures that can consist of combinations of several purchasing document tables, as long as these are in a hierarchical father-son relationship (e.g. EKKO, EKPO and EKBE). Such variants can be created from the selection screen via Define layout.

When creating the NAI extract, a table with the same name corresponding to the selected layout variant is automatically generated in the NAI database. The string “CMME” is used as the NAI application. If this NAI table already exists, it is updated. If this is not desired, it can be initialized again by selecting Initialize NAI extract table before creating the extract.

In the case of the layout variant named ZZPO_EXTRACT in the illustration, the NAI table is called ZZPO_EXTRACT.CMME. It contains fields from the tables EKKO, EKPO and EKBE. After extraction, the data can be evaluated using the NAI browser or the transaction /PBS/NAI_QUERY. The NAI Query Tool offers the advantage that beyond the straightforward display functionality it is also possible to link the extracted data with other NAI tables using the JOIN functionality. In the scenario shown below, the extracted purchase order data was linked together with information from material documents, plant table T001W, and vendor master and is then available for evaluations as a JOIN with the freely assigned name $ZZPO_MSEG_OTHERS. It is also possible to define which fields with which restrictions are used for the selection and their sequence in the display table. This can be stored under a freely definable query name and reused as required.

A data extract can be created this way.
Simply choose output option: NAI extract.
Define the structure of the extract in form of a layout variant.
The NAI table ZZPO_EXTRACT.CMME is evaluated using NAI Query in our example.
The join $ZZPO_MSEG_OTHERS is composed of purchasing extract, material documents, plant table and vendor master.
