PBS Archive Data Conversion

Detect and correct inconsistencies in archived business data

You can adapt field contents in archived SAP data using the PBS Archive Data Conversion (ADC) Tool. Data contents in archive structures and archive classes can be changed. Common adaption scenarios are the encryption and/or masking, conversion, deletion, or extraction of archived data. Masking makes personal data completely unreadable whereas encryption can be reversed again with the corresponding authorization.

The various conversion tasks can be configured centrally and validated by the specialist departments via an approval process. The documentation of the changes that have been made is performed directly in the archiving object so that the adaption of the archive data remains transparent even in the case of porting into another system landscape.

If compliance requirements change for business data that is protected from alterations, the conversion process with ADC is done by updating into a new archive file. Old archive data that is no longer required is deleted logically in the SAP standard.
